Learn about the history of opera from 16th-century Italy to present day, through presentations by experts on the art form. Full of fun and practical ways to get to know and embrace, Opera 101 will provide teachers with materials and strategies including tools for critical listening, examining the libretto, adapting source material and more. At the end of each session, LA Opera teaching artists will lead participants in a hands-on workshop that teachers can then take to the classroom.
