The Armory Center originated as the education department of the Pasadena Art Museum in 1947. Today, it offers 20,000 square feet of space for galleries, workshops, studios and performances. K-12 field trips are offered 9:30-11:30 AM Tuesday-Friday. Teaching Artists lead students on a tour of our contemporary exhibitions and into the studio to create hands-on art projects. Prior to the visit, teachers receive an Armory Education Packet with images, discussion topics, and activities. For more information and to book, contact the Field Trip Coordinator.

California Science Center *

Admission: $25 booking fee + $9 per student for Big Lab programs

The California Science Center has a variety of exciting science exhibits, on topics such as ecosystems, biological science, space and technology. General admission is free; however, there are additional fees for groups and special programs. K-8 teachers can also make reservations at the Big Lab, a 32,000 square foot space designed for hands-on, inquiry science activities for different age groups. In addition to on-site programs, the Science Center offers an outreach presentation for K-5 students called “Desert Dome,” which can be brought to your school.
