Director Jacqueline Hamilton announces the honorees at the Teacher Awards Ceremony hosted at the Natural History Museum

The 22nd annual ECCLA Teacher Awards Reception brought over 300 educators and their guests to the Natural History Museum.

We were delighted to receive 52 outstanding teacher nominations from 47 ECCLA schools this year. All nominees were honored in an elegant ceremony and received a bag of goodies and a City of Los Angeles certificate in recognition of their service to education from Councilwoman Jan Perry. Winning teachers received a cash prize of $500 and the runner up received $100.

An extra $500 teacher prize was awarded because the panel of judges were so deeply impressed with two of the nominees in the same category (Mary Lewis at Foshay Learning School and Antoinette Pippin at the Alexander Science Center School) that they could not choose between them.
